Job summary

Urban Precision Pty Ltd, trading as Urban Precision, is a Sydney-based custom joinery manufacturer specialising in bespoke kitchens, wardrobes, and cabinetry. They are seeking a Production Engineer (Joinery Manufacturing) to own production planning, plant performance, and DFM workflows in Caringbah.

The role bridges design and workshop execution, converting client briefs into manufacturable joinery, programming CNC machinery, and maintaining safety and quality standards in a modern workshop.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in Production/Manufacturing/Mechanical Engineering (AQF Level 7+).
• 2+ years in production/manufacturing/plant engineering in a manufacturing environment.
• Experience in timber/panel-based joinery, cabinetry or interior fit-out highly regarded.
• Proficient in 3D CAD/CAM joinery design software with parametric modeling and cut-list prep.
• Knowledge of CNC programming, nesting, machine parameters, and tooling.
• Strong WHS knowledge and experience with Australian standards for joinery and cabinetry.
• Valid Australian driver licence and Australian work rights.

Responsibilities

• Plan and manage production capacity and workflow across design, machining, fabrication, assembly and installation.
• Analyse workshop data and costs to optimize equipment and labor efficiency using lean methods.
• Translate briefs into manufacturable joinery, create 3D models, drawings, cut lists and specs.
• Program, set up and optimize CNC machinery and introduce new equipment.
• Maintain maintenance schedules to maximise uptime and efficiency.
• Prepare labour/material estimates, quotes, and cost analyses; monitor project margins.
• Ensure quality control and compliance with engineering standards and Australian standards.
