Job summary

Lismore City Council in New South Wales invites applications for a Leading Hand (Jet Patching) to lead the Jet Patching team in the Roads and Infrastructure directorate, and to support the Field Supervisor as required.

The role requires a HR licence, Cert III Civil Construction, White Card and First Aid, plus demonstrable experience leading road maintenance crews and operating heavy plant, including GPS machine control, with a strong emphasis on WHS compliance.

Qualifications

• Cert III Civil Construction or equivalent experience
• White Card
• Current First Aid Certificate
• Current Class LR Licence
• Experience leading and supervising road maintenance teams
• Experience operating heavy plant equipment

Responsibilities

• Lead Jet Patching team and support Field Supervisor with planning, safety inspections and compliance
• Supervise worksites, manage materials, equipment, and contractors; operate GPS machine control
• Identify underground/overhead services and conduct prestart checks; ensure WHS compliance
• Develop and guide less experienced staff; coordinate traffic control and community communications
• Ensure safe, timely, and high-quality project outcomes
