Job summary

Medibank is seeking an experienced AI Design Lead to join our Enterprise AI Hub in Melbourne. You will shape how people and AI work together, establishing frameworks and interaction patterns for usable, trustworthy, human-centered experiences.

This role requires coaching cross-functional teams, guiding strategic AI initiatives, and ensuring ethical, safe design. You’ll partner with Technology, Risk and Legal to deliver cohesive customer and employee journeys.

Qualifications

• Strong experience in service, experience or product design in large organisations.
• Proven ability to define design visions and influence product strategy.
• Experience with AI-enabled products or services is highly regarded.

Responsibilities

• Define and evolve Medibank's Human-AI Experience framework, standards and design principles.
• Lead the design of AI-enabled experiences, workflows and services across customer and employee journeys.
• Provide expert guidance on complex and strategic AI initiatives, ensuring trust, usability, transparency and human oversight are embedded from the start.
• Establish and embed design principles, guidelines and governance processes for cohesive, user-centred experiences.
• Use research, testing and live evidence to improve AI experiences and influence future design practices.
• Build AI design capability across Product, Design, Research and Delivery teams through coaching and leadership.
• Partner with Technology, Risk, Legal, Privacy and Operations to ensure safe, ethical AI experiences.
