Job summary

Lindsay Transport is seeking an experienced Workshop Manager to lead our Derrimut operation, taking ownership of a busy heavy vehicle workshop, mentoring a skilled team and maintaining one of Australia’s leading transport fleets.

We want a genuine leader who earns respect through action, builds strong teams, drives accountability and a safety-first culture. You’ll balance workshop demands, fleet availability and continuous improvement while leading from the front.

Qualifications

• Proven experience leading a workshop, fleet maintenance, or heavy vehicle operation.
• Strong leadership, coaching and development of tradespeople and apprentices.
• Commitment to safety, quality and continuous improvement.
• Excellent planning, scheduling and resource management in a busy workshop.

Responsibilities

• Provide visible leadership and direction to the workshop team.
• Oversee planning, prioritisation and allocation of work across the workshop.
• Manage repair, maintenance and testing of a high‑volume heavy vehicle fleet.
• Monitor workflow to minimise downtime and keep fleet moving.
• Provide technical support and assist with breakdowns when required.
• Ensure workshop documentation and compliance are completed accurately and on time.
