Job summary

Macquarie Health Corporation is seeking a capable Financial Accountant to join the Corporate Accounting Team on a permanent basis. You will lead month-end close, balance sheet reconciliations, and statutory reporting, ensuring GL integrity across the group.

The role reports to the Group Finance Director and requires CA/CPA qualification with 1–3 years of chartered accounting experience, plus strong communication skills and attention to deadlines.

Qualifications

• CA/CPA qualification with 1–3 years in a chartered accounting firm.
• Minimum 3 years of statutory reporting, audit and tax experience.
• Experience with consolidation and intercompany reconciliations preferred.
• Strong written and verbal communication with good commercial acumen.
• Self-motivated and able to meet deadlines and deliverables.

Responsibilities

• Perform full balance sheet reconciliation and prepare general purpose financial reports.
• Prepare group statutory accounts ensuring compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements.
• Review and resolve balance sheet reconciliation issues and maintain the group chart of accounts.
• Assist with lease accounting under AASB16 and tax effect accounting.
• Coordinate year-end audit process with the team and stakeholders.
• Provide fact-based recommendations to improve reporting and GL practices.
