Job summary

Uniting NSW & ACT is seeking an experienced leader to join their Early Intervention leadership team as Coordinator – Family Support & Creative Parenting Spaces in Campbelltown. You’ll coordinate a child protection casework program and provide practice leadership to a multidisciplinary team focused on child safety and positive family outcomes.

Qualifications

• A degree in Social Work, Psychology or a related discipline.
• At least 5 years' experience with children, young people and families, including 2+ years in leadership.
• Strong experience in child protection, family support, early intervention or community services.
• Understanding of child protection practice, risk assessment, mandatory reporting and legislation.
• Ability to provide practice leadership and support practitioners dealing with complex cases.
• Reflective supervision, mentoring staff and developing practice capability.
• Balance safety with strengths-based, trauma-informed, family-inclusive practice.
• Experience building partnerships across government and community sectors.
• Commitment to culturally responsive practice with Aboriginal and CALD communities.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate the delivery of a child protection casework program with high-quality, child-centred practice.
• Provide practice leadership across child protection, casework and early intervention.
• Lead, coach and develop a multidisciplinary team through reflective supervision.
• Support staff in assessment, case planning, risk identification, safety planning and referrals.
• Ensure children's safety remains central while engaging families to strengthen outcomes.
• Create a psychologically safe culture where staff feel supported and empowered.
• Oversee quality casework, parenting programs, supported playgroups and early intervention services.
• Guide practitioners managing complex family circumstances including trauma and vulnerability.
• Build partnerships with community organisations, schools, government agencies and locals.
