Job summary

Orica is seeking a Lead Engineer for the Digital Solutions FRAGTrack team. You will provide technical leadership across edge and cloud systems, balancing hands‑on engineering with people leadership, with a focus on secure, observable software for mining environments.

You will collaborate with Product Managers, Engineers and SMEs to define capabilities, drive architecture and ensure reliable integrations across embedded, edge, and cloud platforms. Hybrid work in Australia is available.

Qualifications

• Must design and deliver distributed software systems.
• Strong experience with C# and Python.
• Experience with cloud architecture (Azure) and multi‑tenanted SaaS.
• Linux/edge computing experience; security and observability focus.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership across FRAGTrack and IoT platforms.
• Lead technical decision‑making across engineering disciplines.
• Design data models, contracts and interfaces between distributed systems.
• Deliver highly available products by automating delivery, monitoring and management of infra and apps.
• Build robust, secure, observable software for cloud and remote mining environments.
• Collaborate with CV/ML engineers to prod‑level research and algorithms.
• Mentor engineers and support growth within the team.
• Maintain ISO 27001 alignment and security controls.
