Job summary

Orica is seeking a Lead Engineer for its Digital Solutions team to drive FRAGTrack across embedded and cloud environments. You will collaborate with Product Managers, Engineers and SMEs to transform research into production-ready solutions in mining operations.

You will lead technical decisions, balance hands-on development with people leadership, and ensure security, observability and reliability across our distributed platforms. Hybrid, Australia-based role.

Qualifications

• Proven experience designing distributed software systems.
• Strong proficiency in C# and Python development.
• Experience with cloud architectures, Azure preferred.
• Background in edge computing, IoT or ML is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Lead cross-functional teams to define FRAGTrack capabilities.
• Provide technical leadership across edge and cloud platforms.
• Design data models, contracts and interfaces between services.
• Ensure secure, observable, and maintainable software in field deployments.
• Mentor engineers and drive architectural excellence.
