Job summary

Aurecon Group is seeking a Lead Electrical Engineer in Brisbane to lead electrical design across a multi-project portfolio in mining, oil & gas, and water. You will own technical direction, mentor engineers, and partner with clients to deliver practical, compliant solutions from concept to detailed design.

You will manage multidisciplinary delivery, drive design integrity, and uphold engineering standards across brownfield and operating assets, with the security of a long-term project pipeline.

Qualifications

• Degree in Electrical Engineering required.
• Current RPEQ registration required.
• Experience delivering electrical design projects in oil & gas, mining, or heavy industrial environments.
• Proven leadership of design teams and client-facing guidance.

Responsibilities

• Lead electrical design packages from concept to detailed design and implementation.
• Provide technical leadership for LV/HV power systems, ensuring practical, compliant designs.
• Act as trusted advisor to clients with clear technical guidance.
• Review, coordinate and oversee engineering deliverables, calculations, specs, studies and documentation.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams for integrated solutions in operating assets and brownfield environments.
• Mentor and develop electrical engineers to foster technical excellence.
• Manage project performance, resources, budgets and delivery outcomes with focus on quality.
• Drive continuous improvement and adherence to best-practice engineering standards.

What you’ll do

As a Lead Electrical Engineer for our team based in Brisbane, you will be delivering projects across mining and resources, oil and gas and water.

This is a rare chance to lead the electrical engineering scope on a large, newly awarded portfolio of gas infrastructure projects, delivered through a long-term partnership with a major energy client. You'll have real ownership of the technical direction, the team, and the client relationship from day one, with the security of a multi-year pipeline of work behind you. You'll guide project delivery and work alongside multidisciplinary teams to solve complex challenges across the resources sector.

• Lead the delivery of electrical engineering design packages across a portfolio of projects, from concept through to detailed design and implementation.
• Provide technical leadership for LV and HV power systems, ensuring designs are practical, compliant and fit for purpose.
• Act as a trusted advisor to clients, providing clear technical guidance and practical solutions to complex engineering challenges.
• Review, coordinate and oversee engineering deliverables, calculations, specifications, studies and technical documentation.
• Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to deliver integrated engineering solutions for operating assets and brownfield environments.

What you’ll bring

• Degree qualifications in Electrical Engineering and experience delivering electrical engineering projects within oil & gas, resources, mining or heavy industrial infrastructure environments.
• Current RPEQ registration
• Strong technical expertise in LV and HV electrical design, power distribution systems and industrial infrastructure.
• Experience leading electrical design teams and providing technical guidance across complex projects.
• Strong understanding of engineering design processes, technical reviews, client standards and project governance requirements.
• Proven ability to build trusted client relationships and communicate complex technical concepts clearly.
• The ability to see the big picture, challenge assumptions and deliver practical solutions to complex problems.
