Job summary

Aurecon Group is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to drive design and delivery of LV electrical systems across mining, resources, oil and gas, and water projects in Mackay or Brisbane. You will build trusted client relationships, provide technical leadership, and collaborate with global teams to deliver high‑quality outcomes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or higher degree in electrical engineering or related discipline.
• RPEQ registration or working towards registration is preferred.
• Strong experience delivering LV electrical engineering projects in mining/resources/industrial settings.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design and delivery of LV electrical systems across industrial and infrastructure projects.
• Perform power system modelling and studies (SKM PTW preferred).
• Provide trusted technical advice to project teams and clients.
• Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams to deliver complete projects.
• Mentor and support junior engineers and drive knowledge sharing.

Senior Electrical Engineer

What you’ll do

As a Senior Electrical Engineer for our team, delivering projects across mining and resources, oil and gas and water, based in Mackay or Brisbane, you’ll contribute to projects and programs that make a real difference and be part of a team that embraces challenges, welcomes diverse ideas, and engineer solutions with people and outcomes in mind.

• Build trusted relationships with coal mining and ports clients, acting as a key electrical engineering advisor and contributing to long‑term partnerships and repeat business.
• Lead the design and delivery of LV electrical systems across a diverse range of industrial and infrastructure projects.
• Undertake power system modelling and studies (SKM PTW preferred) and provide trusted technical advice to project teams and clients.
• Collaborate with colleagues from other disciplines to deliver complete multi-disciplinary projects, with support from our global teams.
• Mentor and support emerging engineers, helping them build confidence, capability and technical expertise.
• Contribute to project planning, delivery and performance outcomes, with opportunities to step into project management responsibilities.
• Attend client sites from time to time and drive continuous improvement and best‑practice standards.

What you’ll bring

• Relevant qualifications in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
• RPEQ registration or be working towards achieving registration.
• Strong LV electrical engineering experience, with power system modelling experience (SKM PTW preferred); MV/HV, instrumentation and control experience is a bonus.
• Extensive experience delivering electrical engineering projects across mining, resources or heavy industrial environments, ideally coal mining or ports.
• Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to build trusted relationships.
• A collaborative mindset and willingness to share knowledge and support others.
• Project delivery or project management experience, or an interest in further developing these skills.
• Ability to travel to site when required.
