Job summary

Aurecon is seeking an Electrical Design Engineer in Australia to join our Industrial EI&C team. You will contribute to the design and delivery of heavy industrial and process plant projects, focusing on electrical, instrumentation and control systems and power distribution analysis.

You will collaborate across disciplines, apply knowledge of relevant Australian standards, and engage with clients to ensure quality deliverables and timely project milestones.

Qualifications

• Degree in Electrical Engineering recognised by Engineers Australia.
• Minimum 5 years' post graduate experience in detailed design for industrial projects.
• Applied knowledge of in-plant electrical distribution (MV/LV) and motor control systems.
• Experience with AS/NZS 3000, AS/NZS 3008.1.1 and AS/NZS 2067.
• Experience across concept, FEED and detail design.
• Experience with PowerCad, ETAP or equivalent.
• Excellent verbal and written communications skills.
• Understanding of renewable energy, industrial communications, SCADA, PLC/DCS, industrial networking, Hazardous Areas and Functional Safety.

How will your ideas contribute to shaping what's next?

As our new Electrical Design Engineer, you'll be a vital part of the Industrial EI&C team who are changing the way we design and deliver major works to be carbon neutral and sustainable.

Your Role Will Include

• In-depth knowledge of heavy industrial and process plant projects
• A fundamental knowledge of key Australian Standards
• Client interfacing
• Experience in detailed design of electrical, instrumentation and control systems
• Experience with power systems software

As well as experience in a similar electrical engineering role previously. You would require:

• Completed a Degree in Electrical Engineering recognised by Engineers Australia
• A minimum of 5 years' post graduate experience working on detailed design for industrial projects, process plants, energy sector, water sector, transport sector or mining projects ensuring quality deliverables while meeting agreed schedules.
• Applied knowledge of 'in-plant' electrical distribution (MV and LV systems) and motor control systems
• Applied knowledge of relevant standards including AS/NZS 3000, AS/NZS 3008.1.1 and AS/NZS 2067.
• Experience across all project development phases including concept, FEED and detail design
• Experience with power systems design and modelling software such as PowerCad, ETAP or equivalent.
• Ability to proactively interact with Project Managers, discipline engineers and designers to support project deliverables.
• Excellent communications skills, both verbal and written
• Understanding of renewable energy, industrial communications systems, SCADA, PLC/DCS, industrial networking and communication systems, Hazardous Areas, and Functional Safety would be viewed favourably.
