Job summary

Beer Corner, located in Perth's State Buildings precinct, is seeking a full-time Duty Manager to lead shifts, mentor staff and ensure an exceptional guest experience in a busy beer-focused venue.

The role involves supervising daily operations, planning shifts, managing stock and leading the front-of-house team to deliver smooth service. Access to mentoring and development within State Buildings is provided.

Qualifications

• Previous supervisory or management experience in hospitality.
• Experience in busy bars, pubs, breweries or beverage-led venues.
• Genuine interest in beer with enthusiasm to expand knowledge.
• Practical understanding of draught beer service, keg changes and basic troubleshooting.
• Strong shift-management and proactive planning abilities.
• Hands-on leadership; ability to run food, clear tables and replenish stock.
• Excellent guest service and ability to explain beer styles to guests.

Responsibilities

• Oversee operational efficiency of Beer Corner during each shift.
• Plan shifts, staffing, service priorities, venue presentation and events.
• Lead by example with hands-on presence during peak service periods.
• Supervise and support team to deliver friendly, knowledgeable service.
• Maintain SOPs, opening/closing requirements and service standards.
• Ensure venue remains clean, organised and well-presented.
• Provide clear handovers and constructive feedback to the team.
• Collaborate with management and other departments to create a seamless guest experience.
