Job summary

The University of Sydney ICT team invites applications for a Lead Developer – Clinical Trials Systems. You will provide technical leadership in designing, developing, and supporting complex clinical trials software, guiding major initiatives, and making strategic architectural decisions to ensure scalable, secure systems aligned with research needs.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of software development experience.
• Experience with web services and API technologies (REST, SOAP, RAML/Swagger, JSON, XML).
• Strong skills across modern web tech and databases.
• Agile/Scrum delivery experience.
• Experience with AWS or Azure PaaS and IaC tooling (Terraform).
• Cyber security awareness (OWASP) and secure coding practices.
• Technical leadership experience coaching developers.

Responsibilities

• Lead complex software development initiatives with strategic guidance.
• Architect highly complex systems across front-end and back-end.
• Establish rigorous testing and QA processes.
