Job summary

Go Fractional is seeking a Lead Data Engineer for a 12-month fixed-term contract in Sydney CBD Area. You will combine hands-on engineering with team leadership to deliver data solutions using Snowflake and dbt.

You will design, develop and optimize data pipelines, review code, mentor 3–4 engineers, and collaborate with stakeholders to translate requirements into scalable, reliable data products.

Qualifications

• Strong hands-on data engineering experience building and supporting production-grade data pipelines.
• Advanced SQL skills with Snowflake experience.
• Experience leading data engineering teams and delivering end-to-end solutions.

Responsibilities

• Lead and hands-on engineer, designing, building, testing, deploying and supporting data solutions.
• Line-manage a small team of 3–4 data engineers, analysts and QAs with technical direction and development feedback.
• Deliver ASB data engineering initiatives while contributing to codebase and implementation.
• Design, build and optimize production-grade data pipelines and integration solutions.
• Write high-quality SQL and dbt code and participate in complex engineering work.
• Review team code, enforce engineering standards and provide constructive feedback.
• Lead technical design reviews and make pragmatic engineering decisions.
• Establish engineering standards for coding, testing, deployment, monitoring and support.
• Translate business and data requirements into practical technical solutions.
• Work with Snowflake, dbt, IBM StreamSets and related technologies across cloud/on-prem patterns.
• Diagnose and resolve data, performance and integration issues.
• Build data quality, reconciliation and load assurance into solutions.
