Job summary

Airtree Ventures in Sydney is seeking a data engineer to optimize and scale our data infrastructure. You will strengthen Snowflake, dbt, and AWS Lambda pipelines to support origination, portfolio reporting and operational efficiency.

This is a full-time, in-office role based in our Sydney office, with three days on site and two flexible days. You'll work closely with investment and finance teams, develop data models and dashboards (Streamlit) and drive data-driven decision making across

Qualifications

• Proficiency in Python and advanced SQL.
• Hands-on experience with Snowflake, dbt and AWS Lambda.
• Understanding of financial and investment concepts (VC).
• Experience refining data models for performance and scalability.
• Excellent communication with non-technical stakeholders.
• Curiosity and a problem-solving mindset.

Responsibilities

• Optimise and scale Snowflake data warehouse.
• Enhance and maintain ETL/ELT pipelines with dbt and AWS Lambda.
• Refine and expand AWS Lambda functions for data processing.
• Collaborate with investment partners to evolve data-driven tools.
• Lead analysis and reporting of Airtree portfolio companies.
• Iterate dashboards and insight packs built with Streamlit.
• Identify areas for improvement in data models and infrastructure.
• Champion data-driven decision-making across the organisation.
