Job summary

Synechron in Sydney seeks a hands-on Staff Engineer to lead design, development, and optimization of scalable data platforms using Snowflake, dbt, and AWS. You will mentor engineers and drive architecture decisions.

You will design and build scalable data pipelines, optimize performance, implement data quality, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver robust cloud-based solutions.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience in data or software engineering.
• Strong expertise in Snowflake, dbt, AWS, SQL, and Python.
• Experience with data modeling, ETL/ELT pipelines, and cloud architecture.
• Knowledge of CI/CD, Git, DevOps, and Infrastructure as Code.
• Strong technical leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop scalable data pipelines and cloud data platforms.
• Build and maintain data transformation workflows using dbt.
• Develop data models, macros, tests, documentation, and CI/CD processes.
• Optimize Snowflake performance, security, and cost efficiency.
• Use AWS services such as S3, Glue, Lambda, IAM, Kinesis, and Step Functions.
• Implement data quality, governance, monitoring, and security standards.
• Lead technical designs, code reviews, and architecture decisions.
• Mentor engineers and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
• Troubleshoot complex production and performance issues.
