Job summary

INPEX Australia Talent Community is seeking a Lead Cost Controller to drive cost leadership for an offshore development project in Perth. You will lead budgeting, forecasting, reporting and expenditure management while partnering with project teams, contractors and stakeholders to ensure robust cost governance.

The role requires extensive cost control experience on large capital projects, strong financial analysis and the ability to influence outcomes, plus leadership to coach Cost Controllers.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience in cost control for large-scale capital/development projects.
• Strong forecasting, budgeting, financial analysis and reporting capabilities.
• Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
• Ability to influence project outcomes through commercial judgement.
• Leadership experience including coaching or mentoring team members.
• Experience in offshore, energy, resources or major projects is highly regarded.

Job description

Lead all cost control activities for the critical Ichthys Phase 2C Offshore Project.

At INPEX, our energy is helping to shape a brighter future. We're looking for an experienced Lead Cost Controller to join our Development team and play a pivotal role in the successful delivery of one of our key offshore development projects.

In this critical role, you'll provide the cost leadership, forecasting expertise and commercial insight required to support confident decision-making and successful project delivery. Working closely with project leadership, contractors and key stakeholders, you'll drive robust cost management, identify risks and opportunities, and help ensure stable project execution over the coming years.

What you’ll be doing:

• Lead project cost control activities including budgeting, forecasting, reporting and expenditure management.
• Monitor cost performance and provide insights to optimise project outcomes.
• Partner with project teams, contractors and stakeholders to maintain effective cost governance.
• Review contractor cost reports, invoices and completed work valuations.
• Support project change management, contract administration and assurance activities.
• Drive continuous improvement across project controls systems and processes while providing leadership to Cost Controllers.
