Job summary

The Civil People is seeking an experienced Lead Estimator to own major infrastructure tenders across Sydney. You’ll lead scope reviews, cost planning and tender development, collaborating with delivery teams to shape competitive, deliverable bids.

In this senior role, you’ll test assumptions, engage subcontractors, drive pricing strategy and handover to delivery, influencing project selection and risk management across NSW.

Qualifications

• Strong estimating experience across civil construction or infrastructure projects.
• Lead Estimator or Senior Estimator experience.
• Experience with earthworks, excavation, remediation or broader civil works.
• Strong quantity take-off, cost planning and tender preparation ability.
• Understanding of construction methodology and project risk.
• Comfortable engaging subcontractors, suppliers and senior stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Leading detailed estimates across major civil infrastructure opportunities.
• Driving tender strategy, pricing approach and commercial bid positioning.
• Reviewing drawings, specifications and technical scope documentation.
• Completing quantity take-offs and detailed construction cost assessments.
• Engaging subcontractors and suppliers to test current market pricing.
• Assessing constructability, project risk and commercial opportunities early.
• Collaborating with delivery teams on methodology and program assumptions.
• Preparing tender submissions, clarifications and supporting bid documentation.
• Maintaining estimating benchmarks, cost data and market intelligence.
• Supporting tender handover and commercial continuity into project delivery.
