Job summary

Sydney Earthworks is seeking a Civil Estimator to join our Sydney team. You will review civil and earthworks drawings, prepare cost estimates for labour, plant, materials and subcontractors, and help with tender submissions.

You will work closely with an experienced Senior Estimator, develop estimating skills, and gain exposure to a range of civil and earthworks projects across the Sydney region. Strong numerical skills, attention to detail and proficiency with Excel are essential; experience

Qualifications

• Experience in civil construction, earthworks or estimating.
• Ability to read and interpret civil drawings and plans.
• Strong numerical and analytical skills.
• Excellent attention to detail.
• Good Excel and computer skills.
• Strong communication and organisational skills.
• Ability to work to deadlines and manage multiple tenders.
• Interest in developing a career in civil estimating.
• Experience with Bluebeam, Expert Estimation, estimating software or similar is highly regarded.

Responsibilities

• Review civil and earthworks plans, scopes and specifications.
• Complete quantities, measurements and material take-offs.
• Prepare cost estimates for labour, plant, materials and subcontractors.
• Obtain and compare supplier and subcontractor quotations.
• Assist with tender pricing and submissions.
• Review project documentation and identify scope requirements.
• Assist with variations and project cost estimates.
• Maintain tender registers and estimating records.
• Upload and submit tenders through external project portals.
• Liaise with suppliers, subcontractors and internal project teams.
