Job summary

Downer Energy & Utilities is seeking an experienced Senior Civil Engineer to join our Power business in Milton, Queensland. You will lead civil design delivery for transmission and substation projects, providing technical leadership across the design lifecycle to ensure fit-for-purpose, safe outcomes.

In this full-time permanent role, you will collaborate with a multidisciplinary engineering team, manage design deliverables and project deadlines, and produce design documentation, scopes of work

Qualifications

• Experience delivering civil design for transmission and substation projects within the power industry.
• Strong experience across bulk earthworks, drainage, oil containment, access roads/tracks, and site civil infrastructure.
• Knowledge of utility and transmission network infrastructure.
• Qualifications in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
• Chartered Professional Engineer status, or the ability to obtain it.
• Ability to manage design deliverables, priorities and project deadlines.
• Flexible and team-focused approach to problem solving.

Responsibilities

• Deliver civil designs for major transmission and substation projects.
• Provide technical leadership and mentoring across project teams.
• Prepare design documentation, scopes of work and tender packages.
• Support project delivery, stakeholder engagement and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Ensure all designs meet safety, quality and client requirements.
