Job summary

pitt&sherry is seeking a Principal Civil & Drainage Engineer to lead senior technical work in stormwater drainage, hydrology and hydraulics across multiple Australian projects. You will provide design leadership and manage complex drainage packages for government, resource and infrastructure clients, joining a multidisciplinary team in a hybrid setup across Melbourne or Sydney.

Qualifications

• Substantial senior-level civil and drainage engineering experience across complex multidisciplinary projects.
• Technical capability in stormwater drainage, hydrology and hydraulics with 12d, DRAINS, RORB, TUFLOW experience.
• Experience delivering drainage design across transport, energy, resources or similar sectors.
• Strong record leading major projects with focus on quality, safety, risk and client outcomes.
• Ability to solve complex engineering challenges with practical, buildable solutions.
• Experience managing client relationships and contributing to business development and bids.
• Clear communication of technical advice to senior stakeholders and clients.
• Collaborative leadership style with coaching across disciplines and offices.
• Current CPEng and/or RPEQ/RPEV accreditation appropriate to work.

Responsibilities

• Lead stormwater drainage projects and design packages from concept through delivery.
• Direct hydrologic and hydraulic analysis and drainage design using standards and models.
• Act as a senior advisor on drainage challenges, developing practical solutions and approvals paths.
• Lead contributions across earthworks, road design, and infrastructure where drainage is key.
• Manage scope, programme, budget, risk, stakeholders and client relationships.
• Mentor drainage team through coaching, review and capability development.
• Collaborate with offices to deliver integrated drainage outcomes.
• Build client relationships and support business growth with opportunities and bids.
• Drive continuous improvement in drainage methods and design assurance.
