Job summary

Mott MacDonald is seeking a Principal/Senior Drainage Engineer to join the Civil and Highways team in Adelaide. You will lead stormwater design across a diverse portfolio and help grow our drainage capability for future opportunities.

You will mentor engineers, manage scope, schedule and budgets, and build strong client relationships with DIT and Adelaide Airport, delivering high-quality outcomes across transport and defence projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering.
• CPEng or progress toward CPEng.
• Knowledge of stormwater and drainage standards.
• Experience delivering design documentation for transport and civil projects.
• Strong interpersonal and influencing skills.
• Familiarity with 12D and DRAINS software.
• Knowledge of Austroads guidelines.
• Baseline clearance advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Undertake stormwater design tasks for highways, building civil and Defence projects.
• Manage delivery across the project lifecycle with scope, schedule, budget, quality and client outcomes.
• Provide technical design guidance and review processes within a range of civil projects.
• Build and maintain strong client relationships with key clients including the Department for Infrastructure and Transport (DIT) and Adelaide Airport.
• Collaborate with project managers, design teams and clients to ensure projects are delivered efficiently and to a high standard.
• Drive a strong safety culture by leading and facilitating Safety in Design processes and ensuring safety considerations are embedded throughout the design process.
• Mentor and support the development of engineers and designers within the team.
