Zusammenfassung

Lithgow City Council seeks a Building and Development Officer to join the team in Lithgow, NSW. You will handle building control tasks, pre-lodgement advice, and certification to ensure compliance with statutory requirements and environmental practices.

The role involves evaluating development proposals and issuing timely, accurate guidance. You will work with the Building and Development Planning Team, liaising with developers and staff and maintaining essential records.

Qualifikationen

• Degree qualification (or equivalent) in building surveying, fire engineering or other relevant discipline
• Either hold, or be eligible for a Building Surveyor—Unrestricted, Building Surveyor—Restricted (all classes of building) or Certifier—Fire Safety Accreditation
• Demonstrated experience in Local Government Building Control and relevant regulations
• Experience with Environmental Planning and Assessment (Development Certificate and Fire Safety) Regulation 2021
• Experience in carrying out critical stage inspections for all classes of buildings
• Hold a White Card (NSW General Construction Induction card)
• Strong communication skills and ability to prepare varied documents
• Ability to build and maintain stakeholder relationships
• Strong computer literacy including NSW Planning Portal, MS Office, GIS
• Commitment to WHS regulations and council policies
• Willingness to learn and pursue A1-A2 Accreditation

Aufgaben

• Assess development applications and related approvals expeditiously in line with statutory requirements
• Participate in Building and Development Planning Team duties under supervision
• Provide prompt, courteous responses to internal and external clients
• Negotiate with developers and staff as required
• Provide accurate, timely, professional advice including investigations and reports
• Carry out duties as Principal Certifier when appointed
• Maintain documentation per policies and legislation
