Job summary

NSW Department of Education in Eveleigh NSW seeks a Lead Application Analyst to design, develop, troubleshoot and evolve software applications for websites and single-page apps, contributing to the department's design system and engineering practices.

You will lead ICT support, advise on initiatives and upgrades, and coordinate integration across ICT teams with a focus on reliability, security and performance for public education services.

About the role

The Lead Application Analyst leads the design, development, troubleshooting and debugging of software applications for websites and single page applications and is actively involved the development of the department's practices and procedures and the definition and evolution of its design system.

Key accountabilities

• Lead the team to deliver timely, high-quality ICT support and maintain effective application and system performance.
• Advise stakeholders on new initiatives, software changes and technology upgrades to improve efficiency and minimise downtime.
• Lead application and system integration, continuous improvement, testing and implementation with ICT teams and stakeholders.
• Support resource, capacity, security and disaster recovery planning for emerging ICT needs.
• Oversee third-level support, technical documentation and performance reporting, including issue resolution and service provider management.

About you

• Strong ability to manage interdependencies and competing priorities to deliver program outcomes.
• Stay current with technology and innovation to improve DoE service delivery.
• Challenge existing approaches and apply contemporary design to business needs.
• Substantial experience in software application design and development, including .NET Core and Azure cloud services.
• Knowledge of and commitment to implementing the Department's Aboriginal Education Policy and upholding the Department's Partnership Agreement with the NSW AECG and to ensure quality outcomes for Aboriginal people.

Essential requirements of the role

• Degree in computer science or related degree and/or equivalent experience in information technology.
• Current and valid Working with Children Check Clearance for paid employment.
• Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to the value of public education.
