Job summary

Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) Australia is seeking a Lead Agentic AI Developer to design, build and evolve AI agents and backend services in Sydney. You will define architectures, integrate tools, and shape end-to-end agent conversations while mentoring teams and driving observability.

You’ll work with ADK, MCP, FastAPI, GCP, Docker and modern frontend APIs, delivering robust, scalable agent-enabled solutions for enterprise clients.

Qualifications

• Experience with agentic AI frameworks and tool use.
• Strong understanding of LLM-based agent architectures and state management.
• Proficiency with ADK or similar agent frameworks (LangChain, AutoGen, CrewAI).
• Experience designing MCP servers and tools using FastMCP.
• Excellent prompt engineering and safety considerations.
• Knowledge of RAG, semantic search, vector databases.
• Advanced Python 3.14+ with async patterns; FastAPI 0.115+
• SQLAlchemy 2.0+ async and asyncpg; Alembic migrations
• Auth patterns (JWT, OAuth2); cloud familiarity (GCP)

Responsibilities

• Lead design and development of AI agents, architectures and tool integrations.
• Build and maintain backend services exposing MCP-enabled tools to agents.
• Oversee agent-service communication patterns incl. SSE and async workflows.
• Translate business requirements into agent capabilities and service architectures.
• Coordinate testing of agent systems, prompts, tooling and end-to-end flows.
• Drive observability, latency metrics and system reliability.
• Mentor engineers in MCP, Python async and agentic patterns.
