Naiman Clarke is seeking a Special Counsel with a strong practice and client following to join its Sydney office, with ambition to develop Melbourne as well. The role focuses on managing complex commercial disputes and leading case strategy.

Qualifications

• Admitted as a Legal Practitioner in Australia with 8+ years PQE in commercial litigation.
• Strong litigation experience including case management, drafting pleadings, and court advocacy.
• Exposure to insolvency matters and regulatory disputes is highly regarded.
• Excellent analytical, research, and problem-solving skills.
• Strong client relationships and communication skills.
• Ability to work autonomously and in a collaborative team.

Responsibilities

• Represent clients in commercial disputes including contract disputes, insolvency matters, and regulatory investigations.
• Conduct legal research, draft pleadings, prepare court documents, and manage case strategy.
• Engage in negotiation, mediation, and litigation proceedings in superior courts.
• Collaborate with senior lawyers and partners on high-profile cases.
• Work with a team that values strategic thinking and practical commercial outcomes.

• Excellent analytical, research, and problem-solving skills.
• Strong client relationship and communication skills.
