Mastercut Technologies is a specialist precision manufacturing business supplying high-quality products to customers across Australia and internationally.

About the role

Mastercut Technologies is seeking a reliable and motivated Laser Operator to join our production team in Burleigh Heads.

This is a hands-on manufacturing role operating our Bodor i7 & i5 fiber laser cutting machines and assisting with material handling, quality inspection, finishing and packing. Previous laser cutting or CNC experience would be an advantage, but training will be provided to a candidate with the right attitude and mechanical aptitude.

Working hours

• Monday to Thursday: 6:00am–2:30pm
• Friday: 6:00am–12:00pm

Key responsibilities

• Set up, operate and monitor laser cutting equipment
• Select, load and safely handle materials
• Read basic workshop drawings and job specifications
• Use measuring equipment to check dimensional accuracy
• Inspect completed parts to ensure they meet quality standards
• Perform light sanding, finishing, packing and dispatch duties
• Complete routine equipment checks and preventative maintenance
• Report equipment, material or production issues
• Assist in other production areas when required
• Maintain a clean, organised and safe work area
• Work within Mastercut’s ISO 9001 quality and ISO 45001 safety system

About you

We are looking for someone who:

• Has laser cutting, CNC or manufacturing experience—preferred but not essential
• Can read basic workshop drawings or is willing to learn
• Has strong attention to detail and a commitment to quality
• Is safety-focused and comfortable working with machinery
• Is reliable, organised and able to manage daily priorities
• Has practical problem-solving skills
• Works well independently and as part of a team
• Brings a positive, hands‑on attitude to the workplace
• Must have unrestricted rights to work in Australia
