Job summary

Warrior Fabrication Pty Ltd in Campbellfield, VIC is seeking an experienced Laser Cutting Machine Operator to join our manufacturing team. You will operate a 6kW fibre laser cutting machine to produce high-quality components for caravan, transport and fabrication industries.

The role requires reading engineering drawings, setting up jobs from drawings and schedules, and maintaining safety and quality standards.

Qualifications

• Previous experience operating a fibre laser cutting machine.
• Experience using nesting software such as Metalix.
• Ability to read engineering drawings.
• Understanding of laser cutting parameters, nozzle selection and assist gases (Air, Oxygen and Nitrogen).
• Good mechanical aptitude.
• High attention to detail.
• Forklift licence (preferred but not essential).
• Reliable, punctual and able to work independently.

Responsibilities

• Operate a 6kW fibre laser cutting machine safely and efficiently.
• Load and unload steel and aluminium sheets using appropriate lifting equipment.
• Set up cutting jobs according to drawings and production schedules.
• Monitor cutting quality and make minor parameter adjustments where required.
• Perform daily machine checks and preventative maintenance.
• Replace consumables such as nozzles and lenses when required.
• Inspect finished components to ensure they meet quality standards.
• Record production data and maintain accurate job documentation.
• Keep the machine and surrounding work area clean and organised.
• Follow all workplace health and safety procedures.
• Report machine faults or maintenance requirements promptly.

You will be responsible for operating our 6kW Fibre Laser Cutting Machine, producing high-quality components for the caravan, transport and general fabrication industries.

This role is ideal for someone with experience in laser cutting who takes pride in producing accurate, high-quality work while working safely and efficiently.
