Job summary

Canberra Sand & Gravel, a leading landscape supplier serving the Canberra region, is seeking a reliable Front End Loader Operator for our Hume Landscape Centre. This hands-on role focuses on safely loading customer and contractor vehicles with landscape and construction products.

You will perform daily equipment checks, maintain stockpiles, assist customers with product selections, and support the sales and yard team in a busy outdoor environment.

Canberra Sand & Gravel has been supplying landscape and construction materials to the Canberra region for over 60 years. We operate landscape centres at Hume, Mitchell and Parkwood, providing quality landscape supplies to homeowners, landscapers, builders and contractors.

We are currently seeking a reliable and safety-focused Front End Loader Operator to join our Hume Landscape Centre team.

This is a hands-on role working in a busy landscape yard where customer service, safe operation and efficiency are highly valued.

About the Role

Your primary responsibility will be operating a front end loader to safely load customer and contractor vehicles with landscape and construction products.

Duties include:

• Operating a front end loader safely and efficiently

• Loading customer vehicles, trailers and contractor trucks

• Managing and maintaining product stockpiles

• Assisting customers with product selection and quantities

• General yard housekeeping and presentation

• Supporting the sales and yard team as required

• Conducting daily equipment checks and maintaining safety standards

About You

To be successful in this role, you will ideally have:

• Front end loader operating experience

• A current Australian driver's licence

• Strong awareness of workplace health and safety

• Good communication and customer service skills

• The ability to work effectively in a busy outdoor environment

• A positive attitude and willingness to be part of a team

Experience in landscape supplies, quarrying, civil construction, earthmoving or similar industries will be highly regarded but is not essential.
