Job description

Greater Hume Council is a large rural Council with a focus on responsibility, growth and sustainability. We are based in southern New South Wales, right near the Murray River, bordering Victoria and the local government areas of Albury, Federation, Lockhart, Snowy Valleys and Wagga Wagga Councils. About the Position

Greater Hume Council is seeking a reliable, enthusiastic and adaptable individual to joinour Environment and Planning team as a Waste Attendant.

Based at the Holbrook Landfill Facility, this role plays an important part in ensuring the efficient and safe operation ofCouncil's waste management services. You will be responsible for providing excellent customer service to members of the public, assisting with waste disposal activities, operating landfill plant and equipment and maintaining site cleanliness and safety standards.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys a hands-on role, working independently while contributing to an essential community service.

This position attracts a weekday (Monday to Friday) hourlyrate ranging from $28.23 to $31.61 plus 12% superannuation. Weekend penalties, public holiday penalties and applicable allowances will be paid where applicable.

Hours of Work

This permanent part time position works a total of 18 hours per week across the following spread of hours:

Tuesday

• 10.30am to 1.30pm - Plant operation and sitemaintenance
• 2.00pm to 5.00pm – Public gate operations and customer service

Thursday

• 10.30am to 1.30pm - Plant operation and site maintenance
• 2.00pm to 5.00pm – Public gate operations and customer service

Saturday

• 9.00am to 12.00pm – Public gate operations and customer service

Sunday

• 2.00pm to 5.00pm – Public gate operations and customer service

About You

We are looking for a customer focused and motivated individual who has:

• Well-developed communication and customer service skills
• Experience in cash handling and receipting
• A current class 'C' drivers licence
• Demonstrated competency in operating an articulated Loader and compactor
• The ability to work independently, use initiative and contribute positively to a team environment.
