Job summary

Barcaldine Regional Council located in Central West Queensland is seeking a Labourer to join the maintenance team. You will help carry out asset maintenance tasks including pavement repairs, concreting, patching and other labouring duties as required, contributing to a safe, efficient regional service.

The role is based in Barcaldine with regional work and travel as required, offering a base salary with superannuation and allowances.

Qualifications

• Completion of a National Criminal History Check to Council's Satisfaction
• Completion of a Pre-Employment Medical Examination to Council's Satisfaction
• General Safety Induction Card (White/Blue Card) or Equivalent
• Minimum QLD Class 'C' Drivers Licence
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills

Position Details

Location: This position is based in Barcaldine with regional work and travel as required.

Classification Level: Level 3 of the Queensland Local Government Industry (Stream B) Award – State 2017 and the Barcaldine Regional Council Certified Agreement 2025.

Wage: Minimum base salary of $71,557.20 per annum + Superannuation (up to 12%) and relevant approved allowances.

Payment of Wages: Council employees are paid fortnightly.

Hours of Work: 76 hours over 9 days with a rostered day off (RDO) every fortnight.

Leave: Five (5) weeks annual leave per annum + 17.5% loading. Fifteen (15) days Personal Leave (sick leave) per annum.

The Role

As a Labourer in the maintenance team, you will be primarily responsible for helping carry out asset maintenance tasks such as pavement repairs, concreting, patching and other labouring tasks as required.
