Australian Institute for Bioengineering and Nanotechnology (AIBN) at the University of Queensland is seeking an Advanced Laboratory Technician to provide specialist technical expertise in mammalian cell culture, CHO cell workflows, and aseptic laboratory practices. You will support researchers, maintain equipment, and ensure compliant laboratory operations at the St Lucia campus.

Qualifikationen

• A degree in microbiology, molecular biology, biotechnology or a related discipline.
• Demonstrated expertise in mammalian cell culture, including CHO cell methodologies and aseptic techniques.
• Strong practical knowledge of molecular biology or vaccine-development laboratory methods and equipment.
• Advanced capability in cleaning, maintaining, servicing, troubleshooting and calibrating laboratory equipment.
• Detailed knowledge of laboratory safety requirements and operating procedures, including risk assessments and waste disposal.
• Experience maintaining laboratory records, sample storage, inventories and high standards of housekeeping.
• Ability to analyse technical problems, improve testing procedures and communicate findings clearly.
• Strong interpersonal and organisational skills for collaboration with researchers and staff.

Aufgaben

• Provide technical laboratory support across a range of laboratory methods and equipment, troubleshoot issues, and assist with developing procedures.
• Manage CHO cell culture activities and support for experiments and reporting.
• Maintain laboratory operations and compliance through equipment servicing, quality assurance and record management.
• Support field-based and external site activities ensuring laboratories are ready and safe.
