Job summary

Adelaide University is seeking a Technical Support Assistant based in the College of Science to enable high‑quality research and teaching. You will prepare laboratory media, maintain equipment, and ensure safe, efficient lab operations to support researchers, academics and students daily.

The role reports to the Manager, Technical Services, Biological Sciences, within the Specialist Facilities and Technical Services team.

Qualifications

• Certificate IV Level qualification in Laboratory Operations or Life Sciences with relevant work experience.
• Experience preparing, dispensing and sterilising media and laboratory solutions.
• Understanding of aseptic techniques, autoclaving and sterilisation services.
• Experience working in laboratory-based research environments and with active research groups.

Responsibilities

• Prepare laboratory media and solutions and ensure sterility.
• Maintain laboratory equipment and facilities for safe operations.
• Support researchers, academics and students in teaching and research environments.
• Keep accurate records and inventory of lab supplies and transactions.
