Adelaide University is seeking a dedicated role to support daily animal care and welfare monitoring within the SAiGENCI facility. This position involves breeding colony management, rigorous record-keeping, and hands-on clinical procedures to enable biomedical research at the North Terrace Campus.

You will work closely with researchers and technicians in a collaborative environment, ensuring adherence to AEC/IBC procedures, WHS standards and SPF practices to support cutting-edge immunogenomics

Qualifikationen

• A tertiary qualification in a relevant field with relevant work experience, or an equivalent combination of experience and training.
• Biomedical research animal husbandry, including breeding and barrier or SPF practices.
• Technical procedures such as injections, venepuncture, biopsies and post-operative care.
• Familiarity with Animal Ethics Committee (AEC), Institute Biosafety Committee (IBC) and associated facility procedures.
• The ability to create and maintain accurate written and electronic records.
• Work health and safety, infection control, sterilisation and aseptic techniques in animal facilities.
• Support researchers through training in animal handling and facility protocols, while ensuring equipment and supplies are prepared and readily available for operational needs.
