Qualifikationen

• Degree in microbiology, molecular biology, biotechnology or related discipline with relevant experience or equivalent
• Demonstrated expertise in mammalian cell culture including CHO cell methods and aseptic techniques
• Strong knowledge of molecular biology or vaccine-development lab methods and equipment
• Advanced capability in cleaning, maintaining, servicing, troubleshooting and calibrating laboratory equipment
• Detailed knowledge of laboratory safety requirements, risk assessments, quarantine, waste disposal and incident reporting
• Experience maintaining laboratory records, sample storage systems, inventories, and high standards of housekeeping
• Ability to analyse technical problems, improve testing procedures, and communicate findings clearly in reports

Aufgaben

• Provide technical laboratory support across a range of methods and equipment, troubleshoot issues, and help develop testing procedures
• Manage CHO cell culture activities, coordinate with researchers, maintain cell banks, and support experiments and reporting
• Maintain laboratory operations and compliance: equipment servicing, calibration, QA, risk assessments, waste management, inventory control, and record management
• Support laboratory and field activities by preparing for external site work and ensuring laboratories are safe and research-ready
• Ensure safety by managing OH&S systems, risk assessments, inductions, training records, and incident reporting
• Coordinate laboratory operations and resources: equipment requests, consumables, procurement, maintenance scheduling, and budget contributions
• Collaborate with stakeholders and supervise casual laboratory staff to deliver services
• Assist with undergraduate labs, teaching materials, and outreach sessions for schools
