Job summary

NEP Australia is seeking a Site Reliability Engineer to join our Melbourne team at Southbank. You will drive proactive improvements in the performance, reliability, and developer experience of the NEP Platform across Kubernetes on-premise and AWS/GCP.

As part of the role you will design and maintain developer-friendly tooling, optimize deployment pipelines, and collaborate with engineering to implement robust monitoring, chaos testing, and recovery mechanisms for Kubernetes services.

Qualifications

• Bachelors or Masters in Computer Engineering or equivalent.
• 2+ years in Software or Systems Engineering.
• Automation for scaling with Ansible, Terraform, Helm, ArgoCD.
• Programming experience in Go or Python.
• Experience building/maintaining Kubernetes platforms.
• Expert in Observability with Grafana/Prometheus.
• Solid Linux and cloud networking knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain developer-friendly tools for Kubernetes-based workloads.
• Improve integration and deployment pipelines for faster, more reliable deployments.
• Collaborate to enable self-service tooling for deployments, logs and infrastructure resources.
• Continuously improve build/test/deployment automation for Kubernetes across onprem and cloud (AWS/GCP).
• Provide better visibility with observability dashboards and metrics.
• Manage and improve Kubernetes orchestration across onprem and cloud clusters.
• Enhance observability using monitoring/logging tools like Grafana, Loki, CloudWatch, Stackdriver.
• Collaborate on reliability practices such as load/chaos testing and recovery mechanisms.
