KLN Freight Oceania Pty Ltd is seeking an experienced Airfreight Procurement Manager. This Oceania-wide, full-time role can be based in Australia or New Zealand and focuses on securing capacity, negotiating rates and optimizing procurement for efficient airfreight solutions.

Responsibilities include building airline partnerships, managing contracts, analysing market trends and coordinating with operations, sales and finance to forecast demand and drive cost savings across the region.

Qualifications

• 5+ years' experience in airfreight procurement or related roles.
• Proven ability to negotiate contracts with airlines and service providers.
• Strong knowledge of airfreight markets and pricing models.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
• Understanding of international trade and air cargo documentation is a plus.

• Source and negotiate airfreight capacity with airlines and service providers to secure rates and service levels.
• Develop and maintain strategic relationships with airline partners and freight forwarders across the Oceania region.
• Manage supplier contracts, terms and conditions, ensuring compliance with KLN Freight policies and industry standards.
• Analyse market trends, pricing benchmarks and competitor offerings to identify procurement opportunities and drive cost optimisation.
• Coordinate with operations, sales and finance teams to forecast airfreight demand and align procurement strategies accordingly.
• Monitor carrier performance, capacity availability and service reliability, reporting on key metrics to senior management.
• Develop and implement procurement policies, procedures and best practices to enhance efficiency and reduce operational risks.
• Manage procurement budgets and expenditure, tracking costs and identifying areas for improvement and savings.
• Respond to urgent capacity requests and manage exception handling to support critical freight movements.
• Maintain accurate records of contracts, agreements and pricing information in our procurement systems.

KLN Freight (Oceania) Australia Pty Ltd is seeking a KLN Oceania Airfreight Procurement Manager. This Oceania-wide position may be based in either Australia or New Zealand. It is a full-time position that plays a crucial strategic role in our freight and cargo forwarding operations. As Airfreight Procurement Manager, you will be responsible for securing competitive airfreight capacity, managing supplier relationships, and optimising our procurement processes to support the growing demands of our freight forwarding business in the Oceania region. This role is fundamental to ensuring KLN Freight maintains its competitive edge and delivers exceptional value to our clients through efficient and cost-effective airfreight solutions.

What we're looking for

• 5+ years' experience in airfreight procurement, airline sales, freight forwarding or related roles within the logistics or transport industry
• Proven track record of successfully negotiating contracts with airlines and freight service providers
• Strong knowledge of airfreight markets, capacity structures, pricing models and industry dynamics
• Excellent relationship management skills with the ability to build and maintain strategic partnerships
• Demonstrated ability to drive cost savings and optimise procurement processes whilst maintaining service quality
• Proficiency in procurement systems, ERP software and Microsoft Office applications
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret market data and make informed decisions
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities, with the capacity to work effectively across multiple teams
• Knowledge of international trade, customs regulations and air cargo documentation is highly desirable
• A proactive, results-oriented mindset with strong organisational and time management skills
• Willingness to travel occasionally to meet with airline partners and attend industry events
