Job summary

ICC Sydney is seeking an emergent leader to join our event delivery team as Kitchen Stewarding Team Leader. Reporting to the Kitchen Logistics Manager, you will work with the wider Kitchen team to deliver unforgettable events in a positive culture that values innovation and collaboration.

The role focuses on overseeing kitchen stewarding, staff development, and ensuring high cleanliness and safety standards across all events in a premier venue at Barangaroo.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a kitchen stewarding, kitchen cleaning, hospitality, food production or logistics environment is desirable.
• Strong understanding of workplace hygiene, cleaning and food safety standards.
• Ability to safely operate commercial dishwashing and kitchen cleaning equipment.
• Excellent attention to detail with a commitment to maintaining high cleanliness and sanitation standards.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a diverse team and follow directions from supervisors and leaders.
• Strong communication skills and a positive, professional attitude.
• Flexible availability to work across a 7-day roster, including early mornings, evenings, weekends and public holidays.
• Commitment to workplace health and safety and safe manual handling practices.
• Valid working rights in Australia.
• You must be 18 years or over.

Responsibilities

• Oversee team member management within the Kitchen Logistics department.
• Deliver high standard preparation for all events and manage staff in multiple sections.
• Coordinate and deliver arrangements supporting the kitchen and food & beverage teams.
• Work effectively as part of a diverse team and follow directions from supervisors and leaders.
• Train, lead and inspire the Stewarding team members.
• Provide adequate and clean operating equipment to meet daily kitchen and outlet requirements.
• Maintain high standards of food quality and ISO 22000 food safety compliance.

About this opportunity

We are looking for an emerging leader to join our world-class Event Delivery team as our Kitchen Stewarding Team Leader. Reporting directly to our Kitchen Logistics Manager, you will work alongside the wider Kitchen team who thrive on a positive culture, innovation and the delivery of our extraordinary events!

Key responsibilities will include:

• Assisting with overseeing team member management within the Kitchen Logistics department;
• Delivering high standard preparation for all off our events, and must be able to manage staff in several sections simultaneously;
• Assist in coordinating and delivering all arrangements related to supporting the kitchen team and food & beverage teams.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a diverse team and follow directions from supervisors and leaders.
• Assisting in training, leading and inspiring the Stewarding team members;
• Assisting with the provision of adequate and clean operating equipment to meet the daily requirements of the kitchen and outlets;
• Maintaining our high standards of food quality and ISO 22000 food safety compliance.
