Job summary

The Fresh Collective in Sydney is seeking a Kitchen Steward at their Redfern production kitchen. This casual role involves basic kitchen duties, cleaning and washing up, and supporting the chef team across shifts.

Work hours are weekdays from 8.30am to 7pm with regular hours in a central location. The position offers a chance to join a leading hospitality group with strong team values.

Qualifications

• Prior experience in a kitchen environment with knowledge of food hygiene.
• Responsible, proactive and detail oriented.
• Hardworking, physically fit and reliable; able to lift 10–15kg.
• Good communication skills and availability on weekdays.
• Students may apply; valid working visa required.

Responsibilities

• General washing up and deep cleaning of kitchen areas.
• Cleaning of kitchen equipment and surroundings.
• Available weekdays from 8.30am to 7pm.
• SupportHead Chef/Chief Steward with daily tasks as needed.

The Role - Kitchen Steward

The Kitchen Steward is responsible to perform basic kitchen duties as requested by the Chief Steward or Head Chef, including:

• General washing up and deep cleaning
• Cleaning of kitchen equipment and kitchen surroundings
• Available weekdays from 8.30am to 7pm
• Hourly pay rate: Mon-Fri at $33.85/ hour, plus super

This position is a casual role, with ongoing shifts.

About You

• Prior experience in a kitchen environment with knowledge of food hygiene
• A responsible person who shows initiative
• An eye for detail
• Hard working, physically fit and reliable - able to lift 10-15kgs comfortably
• Good communication skills
• In possession of a valid working visa, with availability to work weekdays
