Job summary

Delaware North Australia at the Melbourne Cricket Ground is seeking a Kitchen Steward to join our culinary team. You will help maintain cleanliness, ensure kitchen safety, and support operations across shifts in a world‑class venue.

Ideal candidates have basic cooking skills or experience as a Kitchen Hand, and hold or be willing to obtain a Food Safety Certificate. This role offers exposure to iconic events, on‑site teamwork, and opportunities to grow within a global hospitality company.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a Kitchen Hand is preferred.
• Food Safety Certificate or willing to obtain one.
• Ability to maintain cleanliness and uphold kitchen safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Maintain cleanliness and hygiene standards in the kitchen area.
• Ensure WHS compliance by conducting temperature and quality checks and managing cross-contamination.
• Support kitchen staff in maintaining an organised and efficient workspace.
• Perform hands-on cleaning tasks, including sweeping, mopping, washing dishes, and waste management.
• Show flexibility in working various shifts over a 7-day roster.

As a Kitchen Steward, you will play a crucial role in ensuring cleanliness, order, and efficiency in the kitchen; contributing to the smooth functioning of the kitchen operations. You will excel as a Kitchen Steward if you havefundamental cooking skills and a comprehensive understanding of kitchen safety.
