Job summary

Colonial Group in Dunsborough is seeking a Kitchen Steward to maintain cleanliness of dishware, utensils, and workspaces while upholding hygiene standards, contributing to a smooth kitchen operation.

You will support the kitchen team with basic prep tasks and cleaning, with flexible shifts including mornings, evenings, weekends and public holidays.

Responsibilities

• Maintain hygiene while cleaning crockery, cutlery, glassware, and kitchen equipment using dishwashers and manual methods.
• Carry out rubbish removal, sweeping and mopping of kitchen floors.
• Disinfect and clean following proper chemical use sequences.
• Assist kitchen team with basic food preparation tasks as needed.

Purpose

As a Kitchen Steward, your role is pivotal in maintaining the sparkle of our kitchen. Your main responsibilities involve upholding cleanliness, including dishware, utensils, and workspaces, all while strictly adhering to hygiene standards. You are an integral part of the kitchen brigade, collaborating seamlessly to deliver exceptional dining experiences for our valued guests.

Primary Responsibilities

• Maintain impeccable hygiene while cleaning crockery, cutlery, glassware, and other kitchen equipment, using both commercial dishwashers and manual cleaning methods
• Carry out rubbish removal, sweeping and mopping of kitchen floors
• Disinfect and clean, ensuring the proper sequence of chemical usage
• Provide valuable support to our kitchen team, including various tasks such as basic food preparation, grating, peeling, chopping, and preparing batters, garnishes, and seasonings.

Skills & Experience

• Having practical experience in kitchen operations or cleaning is a plus
• Have an enthusiastic "can-do" attitude and a positive and motivated demeanour
• You thrive working within a diverse team in a fast-paced environment
