Job summary

Novotel Geelong is seeking a Kitchen Steward to keep the kitchen clean, support our chefs, and ensure safety and hygiene standards are met. You will assist with dishwashing, maintain orderly work areas, and help prep tasks as needed. This role offers a friendly waterfront environment and opportunities to grow within the Accor network.

Qualifications

• Experience as a Kitchen Steward is a plus but not required.
• Knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards.
• Able to work in a fast-paced environment with attention to detail.
• Strong teamwork and communication skills.
• Physical stamina to stand for long periods and lift heavy objects.
• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Wash and sanitise all kitchen utensils, dishes, pots and pans using industrial dishwashing equipment.
• Maintain cleanliness in the kitchen, including sweeping, mopping and sanitising surfaces; keep areas organized.
• Assist kitchen staff with basic food preparation tasks as needed.
• Monitor dishware and kitchen supplies and notify when inventory is low.
• Follow all food safety and sanitation guidelines for a safe kitchen.
• Collaborate with chefs and kitchen staff to ensure efficient service.
