Job summary

Crowne Plaza Adelaide Mawson Lakes, part of IHG, is seeking a Kitchen Steward to support cleanliness and efficiency in a busy hotel kitchen. The role is physical and requires attention to safety, with opportunities to work across mornings, afternoons, weekends, and public holidays.

Qualifications

• Hospitality kitchen experience is desirable but not essential.
• Must hold a Food Safety Certificate.
• The role requires a high standard of cleanliness and safety.
• Strong reading, writing and basic maths skills are expected.
• Flexibility to work across rotating rosters including mornings, afternoons, weekends and public holidays.

Responsibilities

• Clean and sterilise countertops, walls, stoves, ovens, grills, sinks and cooking equipment.
• Maintain food storage areas like freezers and refrigerators.
• Receive and organise kitchen deliveries.
• Assist chefs with basic food preparation and washing tasks.
• Remove kitchen waste and wash dirty dishes.

It all begins with a clean plate and that starts with YOU! Are you ready to roll up your sleeves? We're looking for a Kitchen Steward who values the details, who's passionate about cleanliness and efficiency as they are about food.

This is a part time position.

Your day to day

• Cleaning and sterilising countertops, walls, stoves, ovens, grills, sinks and cooking equipment
• Maintaining food storage areas like freezers and refrigerators
• Receiving and organising deliveries to the kitchen
• Supporting the chefs and other colleagues in basic food preparation, cutting, peeling, and washing
• Removing kitchen waste and washing dirty dishes

What we need from you

• Hospitality kitchen experience is desirable but not essential
• It's a physical role and you'll be on your feet most of the day, so attention to safe manual handling is a must; including occasional lifting/push/pull of heavy items and you may need to bend and kneel to complete some activities
• High standard of cleanliness and safety at work
• Good reading, writing and basic maths
• Must hold a Food Safety Certificate
• The flexibility to work across a rotating roster including mornings, afternoons, weekends and public holidays
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to build positive relationships and provide outstanding service
• Display a commitment to our guests by consistently maintaining a high level of quality at all times
