Job summary

The National Wine Centre of Australia is seeking a reliable Kitchen Steward to join our main kitchen team in Adelaide. This full-time, permanent role supports our chefs and food and beverage operations across restaurant, functions, conferences, weddings, and events.

Responsibilities

• Wash dishes, glassware, pots, pans and kitchen equipment.
• Keep kitchen and back-of-house areas clean (floors, benches, cool rooms).
• Remove rubbish and recycling.
• Receive deliveries and store stock, pantry items and linen.
• Keep cleaning chemicals and kitchen supplies stocked.
• Assist chefs with basic food preparation and event plate setup.

Job description

The National Wine Centre of Australia is looking for a reliable, hardworking Kitchen Steward to join our main kitchen team on a full-time, permanent basis. Located in Adelaide’s East End, the National Wine Centre is one of South Australia’s premier hospitality, tourism and events venues. We host everything from intimate dinners to major functions for up to 1,000 guests, alongside wine experiences, tastings and dining throughout the year.

This is a critical behind-the-scenes role supporting our chefs and food and beverage operations across our restaurant, functions, conferences, weddings and special events.

About the Role

• Washing dishes, glassware, pots, pans and kitchen equipment
• Keeping kitchen and back-of-house areas clean, including floors, benches, cool rooms and equipment
• Removing rubbish and recycling
• Receiving deliveries and storing stock, pantry items and linen
• Keeping cleaning chemicals and kitchen supplies stocked
• Helping the chefs with basic food preparation and setting plates for events
• Following food safety, hygiene and WHS procedures
• Supporting the kitchen team when service gets busy

• Has Kitchen Attendant, steward or hospitality experience - preferred but not essential
