Job summary

Rooty Hill RSL in Sydney is seeking reliable Kitchen Hands/Kitchen Stewards to support a busy kitchen. You will operate wash-up areas, maintain clean benches, and assist with opening/closing cleaning procedures in a fast-paced environment.

We value reliability, a strong work ethic and teamwork. Must have Australian working rights and be available across seven days, including mornings, evenings, weekends and public holidays.

Qualifications

• Previous kitchen hand or steward experience is desirable.
• Understanding of food hygiene and workplace safety requirements.
• Knowledge of cleaning chemicals and Safety Data Sheets is an advantage.
• Good organisational and time-management skills.
• Positive attitude and willingness to support the kitchen team.

Responsibilities

• Operate wash-up areas and ensure a constant supply of clean crockery, cutlery, utensils and kitchen equipment.
• Clean and sanitise kitchen equipment, benches and work areas.
• Sweep and mop floors and maintain clean and safe kitchen areas.
• Remove rubbish and dispose of waste correctly.
• Assist with opening and closing cleaning procedures.
• Ensure cleaning chemicals and equipment are used and stored safely.
• Follow food safety, hygiene and workplace health and safety procedures.
• Report hazards, damaged equipment or maintenance concerns to your manager.
• Support the wider kitchen team as required.

We’re looking for reliable and hardworking Kitchen Hands/ Kitchen Stewards to support our busy kitchen operations and help keep everything running smoothly.

The Day to Day

As part of our kitchen team, your responsibilities will include:

• Operating wash-up areas and ensuring a constant supply of clean crockery, cutlery, utensils and kitchen equipment
• Cleaning and sanitising kitchen equipment, benches and work areas
