Job summary

Port Lincoln Hospital, Eyre and Far North Local Health Network, is seeking a reliable Kitchenhand for a permanent part-time role at 22.5 hours per week on a 7 day roster.

You will prepare meals, clean equipment, assist with housekeeping and laundry, and ensure infection-control standards. Experience in a commercial kitchen and a current food safety certificate are preferred; salary is WHD-2 with pro-rata weekly pay plus super and benefits.

Overview

Port Lincoln Hospital is the anchor health service for the Eyre and Far North Local Health Network, delivering care to one of South Australia's most distinct regional communities. What You'll Be Doing

• Preparing, portioning, and delivering meals and refreshments to patients in line with dietary requirements and service schedules
• Cleaning and sanitising kitchen equipment, food service areas, and patient-facing spaces to infection-control standards
• Completing general housekeeping duties across the unit to maintain a safe, welcoming environment
• Assisting with laundry duties as required to support smooth ward operations

What You'll Bring

• Demonstrated experience in a commercial kitchen, food service, or hospital support environment
• Sound understanding of food safety and hygiene practices, including safe food handling and storage
• Reliable and organised approach to physical, task-based work within a structured roster
• Ability to communicate clearly and respectfully with patients, clinical staff, and colleagues
• Willingness to hold or work toward a current food safety certificate as required by SA Health
• Flexibility to work across a rotating roster that supports a part-time arrangement
