HIKARU SUSHI in Perth is seeking a Kitchen Hand/Dishwasher to support a fast-paced Japanese restaurant. You’ll hand-wash pots, keep utensils clean, assist with basic prep, and help the team during peak services. Friday availability (8am–4pm) is a must, with reliability, grit, and physical stamina. Friday availability is a must, between 8AM and 4PM.

About the role

This isn't just a job behind a sink—it's the engine room of our restaurant. We are looking for someone who is ready to roll up their sleeves, work hard, and eventually take on more responsibilities in the kitchen.

Key responsibilities

• Hand-washing pots, pans, and other kitchen equipments
• Ensuring the kitchen team always has clean cooking utensils ready to go
• Assisting with basic food preparation (e.g., peeling vegetables, portioning ingredients) as you learn the ropes
• Maintaining high standards of cleanliness, including sweeping, mopping, and managing waste disposal
• Supporting the chefs and kitchen team during high-pressure rush periods

About you

• Resilience and grit—kitchens can get stressful and fast; you must not give up easily when the pressure is on, keep a positive attitude, and thrive under pressure
• A willingness to learn—you don't need years of experience, but you must want to learn
• Reliability—showing up on time and ready to work is non-negotiable
• Physical stamina—you will be on your feet, moving quickly, and occasionally lifting heavy pots throughout your shift
• Must be available on Friday; flexibility to work daytime shift and weekends
