Job summary

The Kyn in Torquay, VIC, is seeking a junior kitchen hand to join our kitchen team on a casual basis. You will assist with dishwashing and support basic food preparation during service.

We value strong attention to detail, good organisation, and reliable time management, plus the ability to work quickly in a busy environment. Weekend and public holiday availability is preferred to cover peak times, with training provided to help you integrate with chefs and servers.

Responsibilities

• Operate dishwashing equipment to ensure all items are cleaned thoroughly and stored properly.
• Assist kitchen team with basic food preparation tasks.
• Follow instructions from chefs or cooks to support efficient kitchen operations.
• Assist in maintaining cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen.
• Follow proper food handling and sanitation procedures to prevent contamination and maintain a safe working environment.
• Comply with health and safety regulations and guidelines at all times.
• Work cooperatively with kitchen team and servers to ensure efficient dishwashing and support during busy periods.
• Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors to fulfil tasks and maintain kitchen cleanliness.
