Job summary

Burpengary Community Club on Brisbane's northside is seeking a casual Kitchen Hand to thrive in a fast-paced environment. It offers 20-30 hours per week, a friendly team, and opportunities to grow with ongoing training.

The role focuses on dishwashing, food prep support, and maintaining clean, organized workspaces. Experience preferred but not essential; you will be joining a community-focused club with staff discounts and parking.

Qualifications

• Must have prior experience using a commercial dishwasher.
• Be a strong team member, willing to adapt to change and follow directions.
• Ability to communicate effectively at all levels with a range of different people.
• Team worker with a pleasant, vibrant personality.
• Ability to work with minimal supervision and under pressure.
• Maintain good personal hygiene.

Responsibilities

• Wash and clean utensils and dishes and store properly.
• Handle, sort, store and distribute food items per HACCP policy.
• Wash, peel, chop, cut and cook foodstuffs and assist with salads and desserts.
• Sort and dispose of rubbish and recycling.
• Organise laundering of kitchen linen.

Burpengary Community Club is in the largest and fastest growing council areas in Queensland (MBRC). The Club’s focus is to support the immediate area with a Club facility, along with the ongoing support to the community. The Club has a 350 plus seater restaurant including outdoor dining, as well as 80 seat Café, 150 gaming machines, and Sports Bar.

About the Role ...

Duties & Tasks of a Kitchen Hand

• Washand clean utensils and dishes, and make sure they are stored appropriately.
• Handle, sort, store and distribute food items as per the Club’s HACCP policy
• Wash, peel, chop, cut and cook foodstuffs, and help prepare salads and desserts, when required
• Sort and dispose of rubbish and recycling.
• Organise laundering of kitchen linen.

We have approximately 20-30 hours per week available in this role
