Job summary

Moonlight Cinema Melbourne, part of EVT Limited, is seeking experienced Kitchen Crew for the summer season at the Royal Botanic Gardens. This hands-on casual role covers food preparation, cooking and service from mid-November through early April.

Ideal candidates have 1 year kitchen experience, strong food safety knowledge, RSA and Australian work rights, and the ability to work nights and weekends in a fast-paced team.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year kitchen experience, preferably in high-volume hospitality or event settings.
• Strong understanding of food safety, hygiene, and workplace health & safety.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, cook, and assemble food items according to recipes and portion controls
• Maintain kitchen cleanliness, hygiene, and food safety standards
• Restock and rotate stock, and assist with prep stations during service
• Support smooth service flow with front-of-house and kitchen teams
• Monitor kitchen equipment and report hazards or issues promptly

About the Role

Moonlight Cinema Melbourne is seeking experienced Kitchen Crew to join the team for the summer at the iconic Royal Botanic Gardens Melbourne. This hands-on casual role is integral to preparing, cooking, and delivering high-quality food to our guests and supporting smooth kitchen operations across the event season. You’ll thrive in a fast-paced, team-focused environment and contribute to creating memorable guest experiences. You must be available to work nights, including weekends, from mid-November through early April.

What You'll Bring

• Minimum 1 year kitchen experience, preferably in high-volume hospitality or event settings
• Strong understanding of food safety, hygiene, and workplace health & safety
• Trade qualification and Food Safety Supervisor Certification (preferred)
• Positive attitude with strong communications skills
• Team player with strong organisation skills and attention to detail
• Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced environment
• Valid RSA and Australian work rights (essential)
